These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Raku ("the Service"), a Mandarin Chinese language learning application operated by Michael Doyle ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement,. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of these terms and any future updates.
If you are under the age of 13 years you confirm that you have the required parental permissions to enter into a binding agreement.
Raku is an interactive language learning app that helps users learn Mandarin Chinese through audio repetition, phrase memorisation, character practice, and a 3D companion experience. Subscribers receive access to all lessons, content updates, and premium features.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account and keep it updated. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
You agree not to misuse the Service, including:
All content, software, branding, and materials provided through the Service are owned by Michael Doyle and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial learning purposes.
Access to premium features requires a paid subscription. Payments are processed by our online reseller, Paddle.com. By subscribing, you agree to Paddle's Buyer Terms, which cover billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, for material breach of these terms, non-payment, fraudulent activity, security risks, or repeated or serious policy violations. Upon termination, your licence to use the Service ends immediately.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free performance. We disclaim all implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Michael Doyle shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated terms within the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
